Simple Gallery + Rad Menu Problem

Here is something that will make you absolutely batty if you happen to be using both of these modules together in the same site. Both modules use a custom CSS class named “item”. Nine chances out of ten, adding the Simple Gallery module to your site that is always using Rad Menu will break your layout in some way. Luckily, I have no compunction about going into “core” files of modules and editing things.

It’s worth noting that this would be an easy enough fix if Simple Gallery simply had a greater amount of specificity in the naming of their classes.

For example:
.gallery .item

Versus:
.item

I don’t want to give the impression that these two modules are the only two offenders — that wouldn’t be close to accurate. One of my primary beefs with DNN is the mountain of stylesheets that get forced down the browser’s throat. I understand their reasoning behind doing this, but would it really have been so hard for them to add an option in the site settings or whatever for “don’t include base stylesheets”, and “don’t include module stylesheets”?
